Traces of Humanity: Starting from Scratch is an illustrated lecture by Chris Plato, designer, teacher and typographer, taking place at the Gustavo Bacarisas Gallery in Gibraltar on Wednesday 1 July at 2pm.
Presented as part of the wider Traces of Humanity project, the talk explores possible explanations for the Neanderthal rock engravings discovered in the Gorham’s Cave Complex, inviting audiences to reflect on what these early marks may reveal about thought, communication and human expression.
The event connects Gibraltar’s prehistoric heritage with questions of art, meaning and identity, offering an accessible cultural session for anyone interested in archaeology, visual language and the traces left behind by humanity.
