The History of Mobility in the Atlantic and the Pacific brings the 15th International Meeting of the Association of Latin American and Caribbean Historians (ADHILAC) to Gibraltar from Wednesday 9 to Saturday 12 September 2026.
The conference explores the movement of people, goods, ships, ideas and routes between continents and islands, with Gibraltar placed at the centre of a wider Atlantic and Pacific conversation. Sessions look at Gibraltar's links with Latin America, including historic connections with Venezuela, migration, exile and the role of the Strait as a meeting point between Europe, Africa and the Americas.
