Richard Garcia MBE presents an additional Literary Festival talk at the Garrison Library on Tuesday 10 November 2026 at 10am, following strong demand for his original session.
Drawing on extensive original research, the illustrated talk explores civilian life in Gibraltar in 1939, preparations for the Second World War, and the uncertainty and upheaval before the evacuation of women and children began in 1940. Sponsored by the Kishin Alwani Foundation.
Open seating: £13 standard or £9 senior/student. Senior tickets are for ages 60+ and student tickets for ages 18 and under. Maximum ten tickets per reservation. Additional service or delivery charges may apply. Hearing loops are provided. Attendance includes consent to organiser photography/filming for promotional use worldwide in perpetuity. Tickets cannot normally be cancelled, exchanged or refunded; cancellation, rescheduling or material-change provisions apply under the ticket seller’s terms, with booking fees excluded from refunds. No finishing time is published.
