The Gibraltar Festival for Young Musicians concludes with its Gala Concert at Ince’s Hall Theatre on Saturday 6 February 2027. The performance time and public admission price have not yet been published in the current syllabus.
The adjudicator invites six local and six international performers to compete for the Local Young Musician of the Year (£500 bursary) and Best International Musician (£250). Selected school choirs and ensembles also perform, with Best Local School Choir (£200) and Best Local Ensemble (£100) bursaries decided on the final night.
The festival runs from 31 January to 6 February 2027. Other awards include promising local Senior, Intermediate and Junior (£250 each), Infant (£100), Lower Primary School Choir (£150), instrumental/vocal trophies and a £250 Best Performance prize. Gala performers are selected by the adjudicator, rather than open sign-up for this concert.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Performers and accompanists are admitted free for their performance session; other attendees pay the standard admission charge, whose amount is not stated. Do not enter or leave during a class. Parents and supervising adults remain responsible for children and belongings.
Prospective festival entrants should use the official 2027 forms and syllabus: entries close 27 November 2026, music submissions are due 11 January 2027, and class schedules are due by 22 January 2027. The entry form contains an old “2026” music-deadline typo; the 2027 rules and syllabus confirm 11 January 2027. Festival entry fees are separate from public concert admission.
