
The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society opens its 2026/2027 season with Romantic Classics at The Convent Ballroom on Wednesday 21 October 2026 at 8pm, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and sponsored by the Government of Gibraltar.
The European Sinfonietta Strings perform under violinist and director Lilit Poghosyan, exploring music from Spain, Russia, Britain, Norway and Hungary.
Programme: Joaquín Turina — La oración del torero, Op. 34; Alexander Borodin — String Quartet No. 2, III. Notturno; Benjamin Britten — Simple Symphony, Op. 4; Edvard Grieg — Holberg Suite, Op. 40; Béla Bartók — Romanian Folk Dances, Sz. 56, BB 68.
General tickets cost £25, plus a £2.50 online booking fee. Senior tickets are £12, plus a £1.20 online booking fee; the online senior allocation is currently sold out. Tickets are also available at John Mackintosh Hall Reception, 308 Main Street. Student and child tickets are available only at John Mackintosh Hall Reception.
