The Gibraltar National Museum continues its 2026 Lecture Series with a public lecture by Dr Alex Menez.
For over thirty millennia, the Rock of Gibraltar concealed a wonderful secret. 100 years ago, that secret came to light. The archaeologist, Dorothy Garrod, had found the skull of a Neanderthal child. This year we celebrate this discovery: The Devil’s Tower Skull, also known as Flint. In this talk Dr Menez will focus on the discovery, Dorothy Garrod, and Flint.
This lecture forms part of the Gibraltar National Museum’s programme marking the centenary of the discovery of the Gibraltar 2 Neanderthal child skull known as 'Flint'.
Attendance is free, but pre-registration is required as seating is limited.
