Calpe Conference 2026

This year marks the centenary of the discovery of the Gibraltar 2 Neanderthalskull from Devil’s Tower Cave. The partial cranium of a four-year-old Neanderthal was excavated by Dorothy Garrod in 1926.

To commemorate this centenary, the Gibraltar National Museum is organising an international landmark Calpe Conferenceon Neanderthals, bringing together invited speakers and contributors from a wide range of disciplines, presenting current research on Neanderthals and related subject areas.
