Trafalgar Sailing is a family run sailing school and have been running RYA Competent crew, Day Skipper and Yachtmaster sailing courses in Gibraltar for over 23 years. We provide personal care and attention. Don’t assume that bigger means better, we have always aimed for quality not quantity, and many repeat clients and word of mouth recommendations have ensured our success over the years.
This year we prepared the Mapfre Volvo Ocean Race Team to pass the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore and Yachtmaster Ocean exams. You don’t get a better recommendation than that.
We guarantee you will sail to a variety of marinas, not just out of Gibraltar. We include quality marinas like Sotogrande in Spain and Marina Smir in Africa. We also include the marina and fuel costs on charters as well as the RYA courses.
Good, healthy food onboard, home-made evening meals are prepared for you and served with wine. We include the food onboard RYA charters too and can cater for special diets.
Gibraltar is safe, English speaking and easy to get to with direct flights with Easyjet, BA and Monarch from London, Bristol and Manchester. Gibraltar airport 15 min walk to your yacht. Malaga is 1 hour 30 min transfer.
Our experienced Instructors provide a challenging and rewarding sailing course in a safe, friendly environment.

My daughter and I took the competent crew course. Rob was a great teacher and very very patient. Took good care of us, a real life changing adventure.
Well organised company kept us fully updated prior to trip. Instructor and skipper Charlie shared his wealth of knowledge during the week. Made the course interesting and fun even in some tricky weather conditions. Keeping us well fed and watered throughout! Would highly recommend them. Had a wonderful time completing my practical for the RYA Day Skipper aboard Brodie Boy. The weather was fantastic for December and with a good range of conditions we all got plenty of experience!
