We visited Gibraltar on October 11, 2018 and used the cable car to get to and from the top of the Rock. The ticket lady was very polite and marked all the interesting spots in the map. There was a line and the car was a tad crowded in the morning on the way up and we had no time to admire the scenery because one lady was having a panic attack and we were all trying to help her but on the way down ...

There was a line and the car was a tad crowded in the morning on the way up and we had no time to admire the scenery because one lady was having a panic attack and we were all trying to help her but on the way down in the afternoon it was just us and the car operator and the view was fantastic. The operator was very knowledgeable and patient when answering all of our questions. The facilities are comfortable and easy to navigate.
I have been on the Gibraltar cable car a few times. I enjoy the wait for the Cable car, to come into the station. Its a wonderful fun attraction which enables you to take in magnificent views of Gibraltar on a nice day. The ride up to the top is a nice smooth one. I recommend you bring a camera to capture the stunning views of Gibraltar from the Cable Car. I will be back on the Cable Car next time i am In Gibraltar.
Knowing that the maintenance has been professionally done, gives way to one enjoying the Staffs courtesy, not to mention the unrivalled and exhilarating views.

No question about it. Its the best way to get to the top of the rock. I understand it can depend on what you want to see up there. But if you are only wanting to see the monkeys, view the new skywalk and maybe visit the st Michaels cave, there is no easier way to do it than taking the cable car. You are free to do things in your own time and pace. The cafe at the top is great too. After spending ...

After spending some time seeing the attractions, a short stop at the cafe is a must before taking the trip back down again. Just sitting there and enjoying a snack or drink with that view is priceless.
This is so fun and the apes were everywhere! We enjoyed the views.

We walked from near the airport, to the cable car, from the top station to the siege tunnels (and inside them!), back across past apes den to St Michael’s cave, around the caves, back up to top station, cable car down, and back to near airport. In total, 15.5Km. £148.
We set off from top cable car station at 12.30 and were back in town shopping by 4.30pm. We didn’t rush, stopped several times to observe apes, and stopped for ice creams at the cave.
One driver accosted us as we were leaving siege tunnels and said it would take us 2-3hours to reach the caves, but it was 45 minutes!
We had a very enjoyable day in the fresh air, felt we had more than earned our dinner and would definitely recommend walking if you are thinking about it. There are a few steep bits but not too bad and my kids are not used to long walks - if they can do it, any adult can!
Great and easy way to get to the top of the Rock. Try plan your trip up on a clear day so you can see the amazing views on the way up and also from the top. We were greeted by some monkeys as soon as we arrived. We had no problems at all with them. They seemed very relaxed and minded their own business which was different to what I had been told before. The views from the top of the Rock are just incredible. Make sure your camera is fully charged and got enough space to take loads of photos - cause you will!! Maybe will try the ride up and walk back down next time we visit, but Im pretty lazy, so will probably end up doing both ways again like this time! Safe and smooth ride in the cable car with great views.
Excellent service. Not a fan off cable cars but more to do with the issue of being scared of heights but wasn’t long on there spent more time queuing but will definitely go back on it when I go back next year. The reason I picked to go on there instead of a tour is because you can spend longer up the rock than being rushed about going on the mini buses where you only get an hour and a half up ...

Always great customer service. Advise about the apes and smooth ride to the top of the Rock.

The Cable Car only takes about 6 minutes to get to the "Top of the Rock", but they are some of the best minutes you will ever spend on any vacation. The views were stunning and dramatic as you could see for miles...The city and Bay of Algeciras, Spain were in full view as you ride up to the top.
Once you get to the "Top of the Rock" you make your way through a couple of stairwells to get to the observation deck, gift shop, and cafe...And the view from the obs deck was truly worth every Euro you spent to get there...
If you are in Gibraltar do not hesitate to take the Cable Car to the "Top of the Rock", it will be the ride of a lifetime....
